The pandemic has been a troubling time for non-profit organizations. Despite the challenges, COPA National has succeeded in actually expanding and strengthening its organizational capacity during the past two years, due in great part to a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Resilient Communities Fund.
This grant supported our organizational development, enabling us to provide capacity building training for staff, revise internal policies, provide governance training for staff and directors, develop a new strategic plan, and purchase database software and essential hardware for telecommuting. Several new positions have been created within the organization as well (Public Relations Officer, Prevention Program Coordinator, Fundraising Officer), and the facilitation team has grown to meet the needs of the communities we serve, and the demand for our programming.
COPA National would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for supporting the province's economic recovery by helping non-profit organizations, such as ours, to rebuild and recover from the impacts of COVID-19.COPA National's mission is to prevent and stop violence, bullying and child abuse. For over 27 years, we have provided simple and effective tools to build the capacity of individuals, families, organizations and communities to effect positive and lasting change. Despite the challenges of the past two years, and with the financial support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, COPA National has strengthened its organizational capacity by creating several new positions (Public Relations Officer, Prevention Program Coordinator, Fundraising Officer and several Prevention Program Facilitators) to meet the needs of the organization.
As such, COPA National is very grateful to have received a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation's Resilient Communities Fund. This has supported our organizational development and has also allowed us to provide capacity-building training for staff, revise internal policies, provide governance training for staff and directors, develop a new strategic plan, and purchase database software and essential hardware for telecommuting.
